The blaze took hold around lunchtime on Monday 22/09/08. There has been seious damage to the building and the cause of the fire is still being investigated (Source BBC news) Motorsports store set ablaze A motorsports store at Nutts Corner in Antrim has been destroyed in an apparent arson attack on the 22/09/08 (Source BBC news) Employers Responsibilities Programme Proactive Fire Safety have teamed up wth Key to Sucess Consultants and developed an Employers Responsibilities Programme which will be delivered over one day using two workshops. These workshops are aimed at employers with little or no knowledge of their responsibilities under Employment Law or Health and Safety Legislation. Workshop One will cover aspects such as, Attracting Employees, Interviewing, Employee Rights, Discrimination and Grievance Procedures and Workshop Two will cover Health and Safety Legislation, Suitable Health and Safety Policy, Accident Investigation and various specific Risk Assessments (COSHH etc) The first of these programmes will be on 1st December 2008 and will be held in the Mallusk area Future Low Cost Training Following on from the sucess of the Low Cost Fire Safety Training courses PROACTIVE will be running further courses later in the year. Dates to announced Fire Safety Training to Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service In February 2008 PROACTIVE Fire Safety Consultants provided the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service with a one week modularised fire safety training course for watch and crew commanders (Managing Technical Fire Safety). This course was delivered by PROACTIVE in the NIFRS Training Centre at Boucher Crescent. The course covered relevant fire safety topics such as Legislation, Building construction, Means of Escape , Fire Risk Assessment and Fire Alarm Systems. The course group was made up of crew and watch commanders and those officers with more fire safety experience who would then deliver further courses.
